Who I am.

Cleveland Elwin Wilde is a Certified Professional Recovery Coach and ordained pastor with a focused specialization in sexual addiction recovery and relational restoration. His work is shaped by both personal transformation and formal training, allowing him to approach recovery with clinical structure, spiritual depth, and practical accountability.

Raised on his family’s farm in rural Montague, Michigan, Cleveland’s early adult years were marked by transition and searching. At age thirty-four, he experienced a decisive spiritual turning point that led him to pursue theological training in Southern Alabama. There, he studied biblical ministry and now serves as the lead pastor of a Spanish-speaking congregation. His pastoral leadership reflects a deep commitment to discipleship, integrity, and restoration.

Cleveland’s professional credentials include certification as a Certified Professional Recovery Coach (CPRC) through the International Association of Professional Recovery Coaches, along with advanced training through the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy. He has facilitated recovery groups within substance abuse treatment settings and continues to lead structured group programs for men seeking freedom from compulsive sexual behavior.

His clinical focus addresses six primary addiction typologies frequently present in sexual compulsivity:

  • Biological addiction – neurologically conditioned reward-cycle dependency

  • Psychological addiction – cognitive distortions and maladaptive coping patterns

  • Intimacy anorexia – active withholding of emotional, spiritual, and sexual connection

  • Spiritual addiction distortion – unresolved shame and disconnection from God

  • Mood-disorder driven addiction – self-medication of anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation

  • Trauma-based addiction – attachment wounds and adverse developmental experiences

Cleveland’s integrated framework recognizes that sexual addiction is rarely singular in origin; it is often layered and multifactorial, requiring structured assessment and individualized intervention.

He is currently furthering his professional development through advanced certification pathways in overcoming intimacy anorexia and addressing compulsive cell phone and digital dependency behaviors—two increasingly prevalent dynamics impacting marital intimacy, emotional regulation, and long-term recovery sustainability.

Married and blessed with five children and two grandchildren, Cleveland’s personal life reinforces the relational values he teaches. His work is driven by a conviction that recovery is not merely behavior modification, but identity restoration—equipping men to lead with integrity, rebuild trust, and walk in enduring freedom.
